Shore Excursions from Laem Chabang Cruise Port

Ships calling at Laem Chabang dock about 45 minutes from Pattaya and 2 to 2.5 hours from Bangkok. Here is what genuinely fits your hours in port — and what doesn't.

Laem Chabang is Thailand's main cruise port — the stop most itineraries label “Bangkok”, even though the capital is 110–130 km away. It is a working container port: ships berth among the cranes, there is nothing to walk to, and every excursion starts with a vehicle. That geography forces a real choice.

With a standard day in port (8–10 hours): Pattaya is the honest play. It is about 45 minutes south, which leaves real time ashore — the Sanctuary of Truth, the Big Buddha and bay viewpoint, Nong Nooch garden, or a speedboat run to Koh Larn island. With a long call or overnight: Bangkok's Grand Palace and Wat Arun are reachable, but be realistic — four to five hours of the day go to the road, and traffic risk is on the Bangkok end. We plan every itinerary backwards from your all-aboard time, with a wide safety margin.

Why book independently at Laem Chabang

  • Pickup at the port gate or terminal exit — your driver waits with a name sign where the shuttle drops you.
  • Itineraries planned backwards from your ship's all-aboard time, with a wide safety margin.
  • Private vehicles and small groups instead of 50-seat coaches.
  • Prices in Thai baht, agreed in advance — typically well below the cruise line’s own excursion desk.
  • Flexible routing: swap a stop, add a Thai lunch, skip the shopping halt entirely.
  • A real recommendation on Pattaya vs Bangkok for your specific hours in port, not a menu.

How it works

  1. 1. Send your ship and date
Tell us your ship, arrival date, hours in port and party size — we confirm a plan that fits by email.
  2. 2. Meet at the port
Cruise passengers exit the berth by the port shuttle; your driver waits at the drop-off point with a name sign.
  3. 3. Enjoy the day ashore
Pattaya highlights, Koh Larn, Nong Nooch — or the long Bangkok day if your schedule truly allows it.
  4. 4. Back with margin to spare
We target the port well ahead of all-aboard, and your driver tracks traffic on the return leg.
