How much riding experience do I actually need?
You must be competent on a manual (clutch) motorcycle before arrival — gear changes, controlled braking, standing on the pegs. Off-road experience helps but is not mandatory for the half-day; motorcycle experience is. If your background is automatic scooters, book the ATV tour instead and nobody loses a shin.
How hard is it physically?
Harder than it looks on Instagram. Enduro riding in tropical heat means constant standing, gripping and correcting; deep sand in particular eats energy fast. Reasonably fit riders finish the half-day tired and delighted. Unfit riders finish early. Hydrate the day before, not just on the day.
Will I fall off?
Quite possibly — low-speed drops in sand and on climbs are a normal part of enduro, which is why full armour and proper boots are provided and why the pace is set to ability. Serious injuries on guided tours are rare; bruises and a rich new vocabulary are not. Check that your travel insurance covers off-road motorcycling — many standard policies exclude it.
What bikes are used?
Purpose-built enduro machines (typically 250 cc class — confirm the current fleet with the operator when booking). They are tall, light and forgiving off-road, and nothing like a rental scooter. Seat heights can challenge shorter riders; mention your height when booking.
Wet season or dry season?
Both work, differently. Dry season (Nov–Apr) means dust and hard-packed speed; wet season means mud, slick clay and deeper stream crossings — more technical, more falls, more laughing. The operator adjusts routes to conditions either way.
Do I need a licence?
