Frequently asked questions
I have zero fight experience and average fitness. Honestly, can I do this?
Yes — this class exists exactly for you. The pace is set per person, water breaks are frequent, and trainers coach technique over intensity. You will sweat heavily in the Thai humidity and your hips will feel yesterday’s kicks tomorrow, but nobody gets hit: beginners strike pads, not people.
Will I actually spar or get hit?
No. Beginner sessions are pad work and technique — the trainer holds pads, you strike. Clinch positions are demonstrated cooperatively. Sparring is something gyms introduce only to continuing students who ask for it.
What should I bring and wear?
Sportswear (shorts and a t-shirt), a towel and a change of clothes. Training is barefoot; gloves and wraps are provided. Skip heavy jewellery and come reasonably hydrated — the humidity does half the workout for you.
Is it suitable for women and kids?
The anchor class here explicitly runs a female-friendly environment and the 4.9 rating reflects it. Children are generally welcome from around 8–10 with a guardian, at trainer discretion — confirm ages at booking.
What if I get hooked?
A well-known Pattaya outcome. Gyms sell drop-in, weekly and monthly training packages far cheaper per session than a one-off class — ask at the desk after your session, not before it, so you know the gym suits you first.
Training or fight night — which first?
Training first, ideally. One hour of pads teaches you what a teep, elbow and clinch actually cost in effort — and the professional bouts at Max Muay Thai (see our fight-night page) become ten times more impressive once your own shins have opinions.
