Frequently asked questions

ATV or buggy — which should I choose?

ATVs (quads) are solo machines you ride motorbike-style with body weight steering into it; buggies are side-by-sides with a steering wheel, roll cage and a passenger seat. Nervous riders and couples usually prefer the buggy; riders who want the physical, dynamic experience take the ATV. Same trails either way.

Which tier am I, honestly?

If your off-road experience is a rental quad on a beach holiday, you are a beginner — and the beginner course is still a proper ride, not a car park loop. The experienced course assumes you can read terrain, brake on loose surfaces and manage 32 km without your forearms giving out. Operators will move an obviously overmatched rider back — better to self-select correctly.

Do I need a driving licence?

These tours run on private land and trails, so a road licence is generally not required — the operator’s briefing and minimum-age rules apply instead. Minimum driver ages vary (typically mid-teens for ATVs, older for buggies with passengers); confirm when booking.

How muddy and how dangerous is it really?

Wet season (roughly May–October) means real mud — bring a full change of clothes and expect to be filthy, which is half the fun. Injuries on guided tours are uncommon and mostly minor (branches, tip-overs at low speed), but ATVs are not toys: follow the guide’s line and pace, and check whether the operator’s insurance and damage-excess terms are in your booking.

What should I wear and bring?

Closed shoes you do not love, long shorts or trousers, sunglasses or the provided goggles, sunscreen, and that change of clothes. Leave jewellery and non-waterproof phones at the hotel; guides take photo stops where your phone can come out safely.

Getting to Pattaya for your tour?

Private transfer: Bangkok Airport → Pattaya

Fixed price from BKK or DMK, driver meets you at arrivals, no haggling at the taxi rank. About 2 hours door to door.

Compare transfer prices

Hotel pickup in Pattaya and Jomtien is included on most tours — but for your arrival, book a private, fixed-price transfer from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK), Don Mueang (DMK) or U-Tapao (UTP) in advance. Door to door, no surprises.
